Student and Employee Health

The Student and Employee Health Clinic (SEH) provides occupational health services for UMMC students and employees, including immunizations, tuberculosis (TB) screening, annual health requirements, respirator fit testing, and the initial evaluation and treatment of non-urgent workplace injuries. Services are also available to contractors and other non-employees for a fee.

Please note: Student and Employee Health does not provide primary care services.

After-Hours Workplace Injuries

If a student or employee experiences a work-related injury after business hours that requires immediate medical attention, seek care at the UMMC Emergency Department.


Services

Immunizations

SEH provides the following vaccines:

  • Influenza
  • Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap)
  • Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B

Important Information

  • Vaccination fees may apply for contractors and for vaccines not required by UMMC.
  • Vaccine pricing is available through SEH.
  • Payment may be made at the SEH front desk.
  • Students must complete the Hepatitis B vaccine series by the end of their first semester. 

Annual Health Requirements

Tuberculosis (TB) Screening

Annual TB Risk Assessment screening is required for all students and employees. Any required TB testing is provided at no charge.

Respirator Fit Testing

Respirator fit testing is available as needed and conducted according to current guidelines.

Influenza Vaccination

Influenza vaccination is required annually during flu season (September-March). The deadline for student flu vaccination is November 15th. The deadline for employee flu vaccination is December 15th.


Workplace Injury Care

SEH provides the initial assessment and treatment of non-urgent work-related injuries for UMMC students and employees.

Please bring your medical insurance card to your appointment. Students may be responsible for laboratory, radiology, or other associated charges.

Patients requiring additional evaluation or ongoing treatment will be referred to the appropriate provider.
